Volunteer

LaCasa needs volunteers of all skill levels. This effort continues all year round.

Here are some ways you can participate:

Individuals or groups do not need construction experience to join in.

GC Celebrate Service Day
Goshen College volunteers worked at the Shoots building on Celebrate Service Day.
Our knowledgable construction staff will guide you or your group:
  • painting
  • putting in new windows
  • roofing
  • clean-up and debris removal
  • many other tasks, including:
      •  general office work
      •  landscape work
      •  mailing help

Projects are available throughout the year and are ideal for:

  • service clubs
  • school groups
  • churches or businesses who sponsor an employee volunteer day
  • neighborhood associations who want to schedule a work day or adopt-a-house project

Individuals can fill out our LaCasa crew or join a previously scheduled group.

Volunteers with general maintenance and building trade skills are welcome to volunteer one or more days per month.  We need you to help keep our rentals safe, attractive and affordable.

Businesses can easily plan a volunteer day.  We want to help you show the community you care.  We can plan a day for you and your employees to give back to the community.

Help-A-House Community Work Day is always the second Saturday in May. This is a full day spent improving housing in Goshen.  Last year over 300 volunteers worked on 18 houses, repairing roofs, windows, garages and porches.  We welcome ALL volunteers on this date.
