Lacasa, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Ashley Bowen to Vice President of Financial Empowerment. Ashley brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to her new role, where she will oversee Lacasa’s initiatives aimed at fostering financial stability and independence in the communities Lacasa serves.
Ashley joined Lacasa in 2021 as Director of Financial Empowerment, where her dedication to client success and her expertise in financial literacy became instrumental in growing programs such as the “Master It Series” classes and “Dream$avers IDA Program”. Both programs, along with other services, have helped countless individuals and families take control of their financial futures.
Lacasa’s Financial Empowerment Center has many initiatives including HUD Certified Housing Counseling, teaching financial education classes monthly, and running the state’s largest matched savings Dream$avers IDA program. Ashley’s experience in fundraising will play a role in enhancing the Financial Empowerment Center’s impact, as she continues to build connections within the community to secure resources and expand program reach. She will also lead the organization’s innovative initiatives, including the new Auto Loan Program, which she was integral in starting, and homeownership assistance programs.
“Ashley has an incredible ability to turn challenges into opportunities and vision into action,” said Jeremy Stutsman, President/CEO of Lacasa. “Her leadership has transformed lives and strengthened our community, and this promotion is a testament to her unwavering dedication to empowering others. We’re thrilled to have her guide Lacasa’s financial empowerment initiatives into an even brighter future, and we look forward to growing this division of Lacasa to serve our community in an even more meaningful way.”
Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and two master’s degrees in business. Ashley’s career is marked by her passion for service and financial literacy, beginning with her work in the Peace Corps, where she taught financial education to residents of a small village in Peru. After returning to Indiana, Ashley joined Crossroads United Way, leading their development team fundraising efforts for programs at local non-profits including Lacasa. As a HUD Certified Housing Counselor at Lacasa, she launched an award-winning program teaching financial education to inmates in the Elkhart County Correctional Facility, expanding the organization’s reach and impact within underserved communities. Her leadership and innovative approach have played a key role in connecting those in need with vital resources and support.
“I’m excited to take on this new role alongside some of the most talented leaders in our community who work at Lacasa,” Ashley said. “Every day, I’m inspired by the resilience of the people we serve and the generosity of our community. I look forward to continuing building programs that crease lasting, positive change.”
