Lacasa, Inc. is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of the first three of the seven-building development on Lakeview Drive near the Oaklawn campus. This initiative will provide much-needed affordable and permanent supportive housing for some of the community’s most vulnerable residents. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on November 7, 2024, at 4:00 PM, with remarks beginning at 4:15 PM. This marks the start of a transformative effort to create a safe, supportive community for those in need of stable housing and care.
The development will offer affordable permanent supportive housing for individuals in need of additional services as they transition from Oaklawn, as well as for those who have experienced chronic homelessness. The development will also provide housing and support for young people aging out of the foster care system, a critical resource for young people in need of stability as they enter adulthood.
“We are thrilled to see this project come to life after years of planning,” said Jeremy Stutsman, President/CEO of Lacasa, Inc. “This development not only addresses the growing need for affordable housing, but also offers essential support services for individuals exiting Oaklawn and for youth who are aging out of foster care.”
The funding for this project was provided in part by Indiana Housing & Community Development Association (IHCDA) as well as the City of Goshen. Lacasa has partnered with Oaklawn and Bashor to ensure that residents of this new community will have access to the support they need. This collaborative effort is focused on providing housing, care, and opportunities for individuals to thrive.
The public and media are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony to learn more about the development and celebrate this significant step toward creating a stronger, more supportive community.
