2026 Friend of Lacasa: Honoring Moe Jacobson

  • Financial Empowerment
  • Impact Story

At Lacasa’s 2026 Annual Luncheon, we were proud to recognize Moe Jacobson as this year’s Friend of Lacasa.

Moe’s connection to Lacasa began in a way that perfectly reflected who he was.

He showed up to a financial education class not as a speaker or an expert, but simply as someone who was curious. He listened, asked thoughtful questions, and came back again and again, wanting to better understand the work and how it could be improved.

That curiosity quickly turned into action.

Moe began guest speaking in classes and eventually helped Lacasa develop a new course focused on investing. While most financial education programs focus on budgeting, credit, and saving, Moe believed it was just as important for individuals of all income levels to understand how to grow wealth.

One of his favorite reminders was simple and powerful:
“Everyone is on a fixed income… but you can still invest.”

Because of Moe, Lacasa now offers an investing class that continues to open new doors for participants and expand what financial empowerment can look like.

Moe’s impact extended beyond the classroom.

He became a donor and played an important role in helping Lacasa shape its Legacy Circle, a planned giving initiative designed to sustain our organization’s work for generations to come. True to his character, Moe didn’t just help design it — he joined it, making a lasting commitment to the future of Lacasa and the families we serve.

Moe believed deeply that knowledge and opportunity should be shared. He gave his time, his expertise, and his resources to ensure others had access to both.

While Moe’s story reflects one extraordinary individual, it also represents something bigger.

The work of Lacasa is made possible by people who choose to show up — as volunteers, partners, donors, and advocates. Each contribution helps move individuals and families closer to stability, opportunity, and hope.

We are grateful for Moe’s life, his generosity, and the lasting impact he has made on our organization and our community.

Honor Moe's Memory

We invite you to honor Moe’s memory by taking a Master It class. He believed that financial opportunity should not be reserved for a select few. He believed that knowledge could open doors that people did not even know existed. Join us at our next class.
