On Saturday, members of the Rotary Club of Goshen spent the morning volunteering alongside Lacasa staff, dividing into two teams to tackle projects that will have a lasting impact on local families.
One group worked at a Lacasa-owned home that is being prepared for sale after serving as a rental property for many years. Volunteers pulled out carpet, demolished an old shed, cleaned the kitchen, and cleared the yard as the home begins its next chapter. Once renovations are complete, the three-bedroom, two-bath home, complete with a spacious enclosed front porch, will be ready to welcome a new family.
The second team partnered with the City of Goshen to assist elderly homeowners whose yard had become overwhelmed with trash and debris. Together, volunteers made meaningful progress toward clearing the property, easing a burden that had grown beyond what the homeowners could manage on their own. While there is still work to be done, the progress made during the volunteer day was significant and provided encouragement to the homeowners.
Projects like these demonstrate that community revitalization takes many forms. Sometimes it’s preparing a home for its next owners. Other times, it’s helping longtime residents remain safely and comfortably in the homes they love. In both cases, the work is about more than improving property—it’s about supporting people.
